i saw this product on QVC today and just had to go for it .. Product Number : 800 662

Windguard wind-resistant umbrella with directional LED light. Features an auto-open and close button, a dual-layered canopy that has been specially designed to withstand strong winds, and a new and improved swivel torch in the handle. Ensure you don't get caught out by unpredictable weather with this compact Windguard umbrella.

Find your way with ease – the swivel torch allows you to easily change the angle of light, whether you want it pointing straight down to help you find your keys from your handbag or straight ahead whilst you're walking home at night.

No more inside-out umbrellas – the vented, two-tiered canopy design allows wind to vent between the layers, enabling it to withstand wind speed of up to 30mph, and the high-density steel and fibre glass frame ensures the umbrella keeps its shape no matter what the weather.

•Teflon coating to repel water and accelerate drying time
•Rubberised handle for better grip and control
•Wrist strap for storage and increased stability
•Comes with a storage sleeve and key fob
•Height when closed: 29.5cm (11.5")
•Weight: 450g

Colour options:
•Black
•Leopard
•Snow leopard
•Black and white floral
•Brown floral

not sure all the colours are still available though.

i have said for ages i would love an Umberella that as well as popped up also popped down, as i don't have much strength in my left wrist and i generally end up getting drenched trying to put the Umberella down especially when i am getting back into my car.

I hope its better than the one i had Suzzanne ! My son bought me one ,it didn't have a torch on though.
First time i used it ,blew inside out . It went back ok but it was very heavy to carry.
I know other friends have said the same. I hope if you get one it is ok .Huh Huh

Hi Suzanne,

I have a windproof umbrella that sounds the same as the one you describe, but without the light.
It opens automatically and is very good, doesn't blow inside out. The only drawback is that when it's open it's quite heavy to hold.

hi both,

i'll report back once it arrives,

the main reason i bought it was the fact that is closes automatically .. my one is easy to pop up but not close down, hence i ended up getting drenched trying to close it.

i'll be interested to see how heavy it is.
